The Ant and the Grasshopper





In Aesop fable's message tell a story grasshopper was lazy, idleness. He didn't think about the future. He only care about playing in the time. The ant was hardworking. He save food for winter in summer. So, when winter come, ants are safety and grasshopper is difficult to live. In Maugham's message tell a story about Tom and George, George was hardworking when he was young, but Tom just enjoy his life. However, when they get fifty, Tom get a rich woman's heritage. George is poor. Nowadays, working smart is more useful than working hard.

Because friedship is to enhance feelings of warmth, trust, love and affection between two people.

2.What five qualities did people say were most important to them in a friends? Would you list the same five qualities? In the same order?

The five qualities are:Loyalty, the ability to keep confidences, warmth, affection, supportiveness.

3.What are the two reasons given for ending  a friendship? Which of the two reasons makes more sense to you?

The two reasons are:Betrayed by a friend, and discovering that a friend had very different views on issues.
I think find betrayed make more sense to me. 

4.What three activities are most characteristic among friends in this survey?What role does trust play in these activities?

The three activities are:Had an intimate talk, helping out a friend and turning to a friend for help.

5.What two rules of friendship do the respondents mention? Do you follow the same rules with your friends?

One rule of friendship is that friends confide in each other, sharing intimate aspects of their personal lives and feelings. Another is the right to ask for help(presumably the obligation to help a friend is also implicitly acknowledged).
Yes, I follow the same rules with my friends.

6.What limits do the respondents put on friendship? Can you feel are important to the reading.

A friend should help another commit suicide if the friend wanted to but was too feeble to do it alone.

As It Was in the Beginning


Question Number 5.


I think that Esther really love Laurence. Laurence was a dream for Esther in her long lonely life. Laurence wanted close to her,make she happy. Esther was fall in love in his arm. He made her blood sweep to very fingertips. When they are together, she would forget any unhappy things. She only can see Laurence in her world.

     
Even if Father Paul broke her dream. Father Paul convinced Laurence not marry to Esther. Because the discrimination that Esther's mother is hopelessly uncivilized; her father has half-breed. I don't think Esther was love Father Paul. She didn't want live with Father Paul. And she wanted to kill Laurence to break Father Paul' heart. Father Paul deter Laurence to marry Esther. He wanted Laurence marry to the Hudson's Bay factor's daughter. Esther heard the conversation. She must be hate Father Paul.


However, Esther didn't stop love Laurence. After Laurence changed his mind and will marry with a "white". Esther was upset, she went to Laurence's room to kill him. But, when she look at Laurence, she lost. She can't stop loving him. She wanted to give Laurence a better life. She still love him.
